I realize there is already a thread on quotes, but I am interested in how some of you have swayed those that are "on the fence" so to speak about using your services. Any advice you can give me on how to deliver a quote and set one up would benefit me tremendously.

This thread could cover a lot of info ...... entire books are written just on this subject. Anything specific you are looking for?

My #1 rule to win: Meet with the Customer face to face. Some people say "can you come by and take a look? Just leave the proposal in my mail box." If you were to do that, the only things they have to differentiate you from any competitor is your price and what your proposal looks like.

Well, I'm just starting out. There are no other staining companies in my area. So I am going to have to convince people why they need their fence/deck stained or refinished. Most people here just build a fence and let it go. So any helpful hints on that would be great.
